You know...
I’m really sick of being annoyed. I need a vacation.

So my original plan of using Tumblr to make updates about what I was doing while in Japan failed, because I’m super lazy when it comes to internets. My bad. I’m actually back home now, my teaching contract was up at the end of March and I decided not to renew it for another year. Teaching English was a great experience, and I loved being able to live in Urayasu again, but it’s...

Oh, Gaia.
I never use Gaiaonline anymore. But sometimes, I like to go on my account and see how much it’s worth. And as of now, it’s apparently worth…
189,826,540 gold. What the hell.
If only you could convert Gaia wealth into Poupee wealth! D:
Old!
Haven’t written anything here since September, but yeah. I’m old now!

Holy crap.
So a scale magically appeared in the common area at my guesthouse since the last time I was in there.. According to the lady who does some of the cleaning, it belonged to someone who died about a week ago, but she’s kind of hard to understand so I didn’t get the full story. Anyway, I haven’t stepped on a scale in about 6 months. I’m used to weighing myself every day or...
コストコへの大冒険
So on Thursday, Kaz and I went to the Costco in Makuhari, because apparently they sell a lot of American stuff there and it’s where all the other foreigners shop. We took a really roundabout way to get there, though, so it ended up being like an all-afternoon outing. We had to change trains twice, wait for a bus once we got to Makuhari, and then cross a giant moat filled with lava and...

wat.
Hmm, it’s been almost 2 weeks since I’ve written anything here, I fail so bad at internets.
I don’t have a ton to write about, mostly because I’m going to watch some Rifftrax in a few minutes and can’t be bothered. Later I’ll try to write something with a little more substance if I have time.
I really just wanted to bitch about the fact that there are now...
Prompt #175: What movie do people give you a hard...
I’ve kind of been meaning to do this for a while but haven’t had time up until now. Everything I post here is pretty similar, so instead of always just writing whatever thing pops into my head, I’m going to try to occasionally pick one of these prompts and write an answer for it. So without further ado…
Q: What movie do people give you a hard time for not having...
Something has survived.
(Wrote this earlier today, posting it now. For the wolf.)
So it’s been like a week since my last entry, but I am indeed still alive. I actually started feeling better the day after I wrote about being sick, which was good. I’m all better now, anyway. I’m writing this in the teacher’s lounge, actually, because all my classes are done for the day and I have nothing else to do. I wish I could...
This is the worst.
Since, I dunno, Sunday morning, my throat has been hurting, and now it’s progressed into some kind of full-blown plague. I haven’t felt this crappy in a really long time, and I still have 3 more days of work this week. My throat has gotten exponentially more sore, my nose and sinuses feel like I spent the last 3 days being kicked in the face, and my entire body aches like I’ve...

I'm pretty lazy about writing in this thing.
I’m tempted to take a page from Bridget’s book and start making weekly posts that have actual substance here, but my writing style is generally just to record whatever fragmented thought pops into my mind so I don’t know how long that would last.
This week was decent, my classes were good for the most part. I even had a few where my homeroom teachers had to leave the room to...

Rainy again..
Had another awesome weekend, but the downside of that is that it makes me hate Sunday evenings, since the weekend is over. Went to Shirokiya with Take on Friday after work.. the food there is really good, and even though they don’t have 1000 yen nomihoudai anymore, their drink prices aren’t bad.
On Saturday afternoon, I met Bridget in Tokyo and we went to the Korakuen next to the...
Popped collars
There’s nothing quite as simultaneously tragic and hilarious as the popped collar. But for whatever reason, people in Japan just can’t get enough of it! First off, polo shirts look retarded on at least 80% of the human population. To then pop the collar is just basically coming out and saying that you not only lack fashion sense, but also do not know how to correctly put on a...
Annoyances
The weather here is disgusting lately. It’s hot, humid, rainy, and windy, and everything feels gross and damp.
The wind is being really loud and making like, a noisy wind tunnel through my room, and yet the air manages to feel totally stagnant.
My laundry won’t dry, because it’s too humid.
I’ve had hives since Saturday, I have no idea what they are from and they...
My refrigerator..
It smells like dead bodies. =(
There’s nothing old in it, but I had spilled something on the shelf and didn’t notice until it went bad and started to smell funky. I cleaned it all out yesterday, but now it smells worse than before. It’s so disgusting. I’d air it out, but then my milk would go bad and my Petit Party would melt. Such a dilemma, I’m not sure what...
Ew, ew, EW.
School lunch was so nasty today! I guess I can’t complain too much, because it was really good on Tuesday, and I had that same lunch on Thursday at the other school I teach at.. But there was nothing redeemable about today’s. First there was the standard bowl of rice/miso soup with vegetables, and a jar of milk, that much I could tolerate. But then there was some disgusting...

Weekend
Oh sheesh y’all. Last weekend was superbly fun, I meant to write something about it sooner, but then I got distracted with work as usual. I had a 3-day weekend, because Saturday was my school’s sports festival, and they had off on Monday to compensate. I met Bridget in Tokyo on Saturday morning, and we spent most of the day there. We got the special Tokyo Metro day pass things for...
懐かしいw
Last night Take and I went to Kaihin-Makuhari, I hadn’t been there since 2006 but it hasn’t changed at all! We went to Y’s, which is tabe/nomi-houdai until 10pm, it was really fun. I seem to recall going there once or twice before, but I can’t remember who I went with D: I really feel compelled to pay a visit to the IES office or at least the Meikai branch, being as I...
DISGUSTING
I found the huge son-of-a-bitch mosquito that (I assume) was biting me when I was asleep last night, it was flying around my room this afternoon. It put up a fight, but I finally killed it, and it left a big blood smear on my ceiling. MY OWN BLOOD, PROBABLY.
Holy shit, I am so grossed out right now. I hate mosquitos so much.
What the helllll.
I have 2 more freaking mosquito bites, one on my other arm and one on my face, just as the other 3 are starting to get better! I really don’t understand it, I hardly ever got bug bites back home, but ever since I got here I’m like a buffet for blood-sucking insects. WHAT. THE. HELL. I need to invest in bug spray, fo sho.
I wrote a blog post the other day while I was trying to...
My eye’s gotten a bit better since this morning. Now it only looks like I’ve been stung on the eye by one or two bees, instead of an entire swarm. I do love to exaggerate, but I’m being 100% serious when I say I physically could not open my right eye until around 3 this afternoon. That is how swollen that shit was. Hopefully it’s not going to get worse again overnight,...
Fffffff.....
My eyelid is even more swollen today. It’s like a beach ball got stuck to my face. I’m freaking out right about now, because I don’t know what I’ll do if it’s this bad on Thursday when I go back to work. I can’t even open my eye all the way because the eyelid is so huge.
My actual eye seems fine though, my vision is okay when I can actually open it enough...

Meant to post some of those pictures from Tokyo today, but I’ve come down with a cold and couldn’t be bothered. I did next to nothing productive today, aside from cooking something sort of strange for lunch.
I messed up my right eye pretty badly this morning, I was getting well frustrated at this eyeliner my mom sent me, because it’s waterproof, so I couldn’t get it to...
Tokyoooo
Bridget and I went to Tokyo today. We went to Ginza first, to window shop for stuff we’ll never ever be able to afford, and we saw a shitload of police knocking about for whatever reason. They were wearing like, riot gear, too. Maybe they are getting ready to do battle against the swine flu? Who knows.
After looking at ridiculously expensive stuff for a while, we went to some restaurant...
Wrapping
Okay, so I just bought a package of cookies, and I have to say something about this.
WHAT is the deal with Japan and individually wrapping everything imaginable? Of course the package has regular plastic wrapping, then inside, each small cookie is in it’s own wrapper! They’re cookies, not Russian stacking dolls! They’re so fond here of eco-bags and not wasting plastic bags,...
Golden week!
Yesterday was sort of lame at school, I’m hoping from now on I’ll be able to use the textbooks for my 5th and 6th grade classes, not sure what to do about my 1-4th grade lessons though.
I’ve been on vacation as of last night, and I don’t have to go to work again until next Thursday, hooray golden week! Might go to Tokyo with Bridget at some point, so that should be fun,...

Shampoo
The shampoo here and I have a relationship of mutual hatred, and it’s really starting to piss me off. It’s as if instead of using shampoo and conditioner, I’ve washed my hair with vegetable oil. It’s so gross! And none of the shampoos say helpful things like “for dry hair” or “volumizing shampoo”, it’s always retarded english that has no...
I was way more excited about this than I should have been. I was disappointed that I couldn’t see the fireworks from Tokyo Disneyland from my guesthouse, but then I realised that I was just looking in the wrong place. Can’t see them nearly as well as I could from Shin-Urayasu, but it’s still pretty awesome. That and the fact that I can see the Ferris wheel in Kasai almost...
Nervous
Oh sheesh y’all, first day of elementary school today. I’m hella nervous, it’s like 1991 all over again, but I have more responsibility this time and no one to pick out my clothes for me. Actually, I guess it would have been 1990. Shit I’m old. Anyway, I hope it goes well! 頑張ります.. Fighting!
Anticlimactic
Had some meeting today for my job.. I thought it was going to be an interview with the board of education in Urayasu, so I was appropriately nervous. Especially because since it was a formal thing, we were supposed to wear suits. I THOUGHT I brought a suit with me, but apparently I thought wrong. Must have taken it out at the last minute to make room in my suitcase for stuffed animals, or...
First!
I don’t think I get how this works yet. I think maybe I’m getting too old to figure out new things on the internet. I’m surprised I never made a Tumblr account before now, though, I needed a good place to store all the shit that isn’t worth a whole LJ post but that I don’t want to clog up my Facebook with. And since I’m living 7 million miles away from home...
