My name is Taryn, I'm 25, and I've just gotten back to the States after teaching English in Tokyo for a year. I have a fairly useless degree in Japanese from Penn State University, and am currently back to searching for jobs again. I really like foreign languages, and I've also studied German, Korean and Mandarin, but I've forgotten a lot from not using them. I don't like owls of any variety.

I was way more excited about this than I should have been. I was disappointed that I couldn’t see the fireworks from Tokyo Disneyland from my guesthouse, but then I realised that I was just looking in the wrong place. Can’t see them nearly as well as I could from Shin-Urayasu, but it’s still pretty awesome. That and the fact that I can see the Ferris wheel in Kasai almost makes up for all the obnoxious street traffic all the time.
Edit: wow, this video makes the street traffic sound deafening for some reason. It’s not quite THAT bad, but it’s close.
